My Friend

As I enter the office to work each day, Glen is the first one to great me with a big smile and a loud “Good Morning, Coy”.  His personality is very infectious as he makes his way around the office greeting everyone with a cheerful and sincere greeting.  Glen is an over grown Boy Scout and the Boy Scout law would describe his personality perfectly.

He is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, well, maybe not so obedient if you were to ask his secretary.  At times he can be a challenge to her as she reminds him to get his time sheet in.  Continuing on, cheerful, thrifty, brave, not so brave.  He is afraid of spiders.  Then, clean and reverent.  That sums it up.  I really enjoy Glen and his personality.

“Coy, that is the nicest blouse you have on.  I really like it,” Glen exclaimed.
“ Thanks.  I have had it for awhile,” I replied.
“ I have never seen you wear it.  My wife would love something like that. Where did you get it?”
“ I think Wal-Mart.”
“ Are you kidding me?  It looks like something from Nordstrom’s. I’m serious it looks great.”
“ Glen, you are so funny.”
“ Well looks aren’t everything you know.”
  How is your day going?”
“ Everything is great!  I have been working on some projects for Amy and you know how she is.  Perfection, perfection, perfection! “
“ Well, I’m sure whatever it is, she will like it.”

As you can tell, Glen has a fun, personable and honest personality.  If I had to characterize him, it would be that he is just like your best girlfriend, but a guy.  He’s just a very happy, caring guy.  I know that everyone he comes in contact feels the same way and he is one of the reasons I have continued to work at my present job!
